hamilton or omega?

Post13 Aug 2010, 20:25

I considered the purchase of an omega tc1 or 2 a few days ago but came to this conclusion, while the omega is very nice i find it hard to justify the 50/75% premium over an original hamilton qed in identical condition ,they share every component from glass to bracelets ,are of similar size and are both just as impressive on the wrist.
Had omega developed led technology then the premium may be justified ,but considering the honour falls at hamilton i feel this is by far the better choice ,i know where my moneys going...........
Also i dont see the omega on the wrist of any super stars of the era ,unlike pulsar and hamilton.

Omega's are expensive that's true but when you have a TC2 in your hand it all becomes clear, they are that nice... 8-)

The Omega's are in a diffrent class. Probally one of the best LED to wear on the wrist.

I remember, soon after I got my first Omega stainless TC2, showing it to a friend, who was curious to know why I would spend $1000 on a 35-year-old, technologically-obsolete watch. He hefted it for a moment, then slipped it on his wrist, turning it in different directions, appraising it from all angles. Then he turned to me and said "Now I know what He would wear, if God wore a watch"...that about sums it up for the Omegas. Ultimately, it all comes down to personal tastes and preferences...some just have greater appeal than others.
