There is no discussing taste.
Personally I totally do not get the imo retrograde step to handicap a solid state module with a mechanical charging system.
I dó applaud the step into the higher end.

My $0.02
The Seiko EPD offers solar charging and rc on a very well performing module with a top notch display under ar coated sapphire starting at 600 Euros
Oops, I forgot,
´Phosfor make that a lot cheaper´
The LCD SBPG001 is a lot more attractively priced still.
The way Í see it, it is quite good news to see the Swatch group entering the higher end of digital watches
There surely is a market for well cased upmarket electronic digitals. It is not that electronic digital equals low price.
This main stream effort must surely be based on sóme marketing reseach.
Maybe we will one day see them appreciated enough for housing in 18k again
Even with only 50 grammes of 18k gold, such a watch would need to retail for some 4,5K Euros minimum.
That will never ever happed again if wis keep jumping on everything upmarket as ´the Chinese can top this for 400$´.
