Incoming — HP-01!!!

Post24 Mar 2011, 20:46

After I started collecting Bond watches, and while looking into the P2 I eventually bought, I came across the Hewlett Packard HP-01 LED watch. What a thing of beauty and I HAD to have one. The priced seem to jump the second I started looking and now they all seem to be in the 1-1500k range. Well, I found a deal so I jumped on it. I cant wait to see this gem!!!

Anyone else out there rocking a HP-01 in their collection?

No, this one is from the US and is working...with pix to prove that:-) The seller is a very nice guy. I am currently trying to get as much info as I can on these models. I thought I downloaded a complete manual for them way back when but I cant find it and thinking my memory is off. I recently recreated a manual from my original 1966 Breitling Top Time and it came out perfect. Would love to do the same for this one:-)

Thanks for the heads up though. Punks!

I've been away for a couple months getting caught up. Mick sent out a ping yesterday. I didn't realize how long it'd been since I posted here.

Well, it arrived and all I can say is WOW!!!!

I own a lot of techy vintage watches but this one takes the cake. Maybe its just the honeymoon phase but I LOVE IT. I dont want to take it off my wrist. Wish I could say that about all the watches I buy:-)

It operated perfectly and who could ever get tired of looking at that display. This is only my second LED (Pulsar P2 was first). Given that it has 9 spaces for digits or symbols, its just that much cooler to look at then the P2. That said, the P2 is a much simpler and cleaner design. The HP-01 could be called offensive due to its size and in your face looks but thats what I like. Seems to fit in with the modern trends of bigger is better in watch sizes.

Glad your enjoying your HP-01. I too bought one last year and after selling many LED Watches in my collection the HP-01 is the only one I have left. It sits in my watch case most of the time but occasionally wear it at home only, like right now  Even when not wearing it its a pleasure to own, it will always be apart of my shrinking collection of watches. I like the chunky look and really its not that big compared to some modern watches these days.

I have been LOVING it. I wear in my regular rotation. Not a huge gold watch fan but it kinda suits this one. Big and bold. I really cant get enough of the LED display. People always ask about it too. I'm sure I'll have it forever!!

So, mine didnt come with a manual so I managed to get the complete thing scanned and built one myself. Even has a cover like the original..except made in paper. Actually looks like vinyl from far away. Came out great.
