Pulsar Calculator band

Post04 Oct 2011, 03:19

i have a question about a Pulsar Calculator band, it looks like an ordinary stainless steel pulsar band but i can not remove any of the links, it does say "japan" on it. Is The band is much to large for me and i have a large wrist, is the adjustment only in the clasp? are the spring pins frozen?

Thanks

Gus

Gus:
Why don't you show us you calc. It is unclear if you have a classic style or a Euro style. The Classic is just like a P2 band, springbar holes on each side of removable links. Euro has holes only on one side. Don't know about your Japan band...could be a knock-off. You may have an extra long band that has all it's removable links out. And how many links does yours have?

hello all,
The watch is a regular calculator not the Euro. The band is the real deal, the clasp says "The time computer Inc. Stainless Steel" and one the end "JAPAN" i will post a picture but it is tricky with my photo skills.

Thanks

Gus - where I indicated with the yellow arrows(crappy, I know, mouse -drawn) those are spring bars. Release those two, and you can remove one link...looks like you could remove two total.

These are NOT springpins! They are solid pins that must be driven through the link. Plus, they are splined on one end (lightly straight-knurled, actually, to slightly expand the metal and create a tighter fit), so they must be driven out ONLY in one direction. If you hold the clasp with the "P" logo facing you, it is the right end of the pin that has the splines, so the pin must be driven from the left end. They are tight, and a fair amount of force is required. I have a couple identical bracelets here, and they also have the "JAPAN" mark (maker unidentified), so there is no question about these being genuine Time Computer parts.

I think Bruce may be right, that you have one with the push-pins, not many of those, Of course, with the odd look of those ends, it may be someone "jerry rigged" it with some odd pins. You'll probably want to use a band lnk tool.
