Hamilton QED help!!

Post03 Mar 2012, 05:00

I just got this nice Hamilton time only in very good shape, I wasn't expecting it to work
but it did, well sort of. The problem is the display, it has the missing segment which I believe
the culprit could be the driving transistor for that segment, but in addition to that, the second from
right digit is scrambled and some segments are very bright. Could it be the digit driving transistor?
is there any hope for this module? I can't wait to wear this watch.

Phasar66,

I cannot wait to see this one restored as well. Your best bet for this problem with missing segments HELP is probably Ed. But I am not sure he is available. May require "wire bonding" work. Do you do wire bonding or micro soldering? Anyway, I hope some gives you some insight.

Thanks Patrick. This is a handsome watch with a lot of appeal . It will be an easy restoration.
crystal is perfect including logo and hardly any scratches on the case. But the bracelet is gold plated and very thin,
very little room to work. I really love this watch . If the module requires only transistor replacement I think
I can do it but Wire bonding and micro-soldering, I leave it to the experts. help is welcome.

ISH.
