I applaud your enthusiasm, but I think it's made you jump the gun a bit here; the initial offering of the P1 was made on April 4, 1972. So, the party officially starts in three weeks. I am re-photographing all 8 of mine for presentation then (including the 14K one, of course!). I would still like to re-establish the Owner's List, and compile a photographic record of all existing examples, but thanks to the tireless efforts of one particular collector to the contrary, I am afraid that will never happen...

Ha! I should have realized that on any Pulsar oriented forum "Pi" would be interpreted as "P1". Of course, you're always welcome to bring out your P1!

Ah, yes, thanks for the reminder about the the big "40" anniversary. There are all sorts of "40" and "50" anniversaries lately. 50 years from now, I don't see a whole lot of anniversary celebrations.

Oh, I don't know...if we do our jobs right, 50 years from now, there will still be plenty of nice LEDs out there for people to collect and enjoy...

In the UK and most of Europe the date format is back-to-front so Pi day is actually celebrated on the 22nd of July and not 14th of March :-)

My bad...still, I think I can be forgiven for the misunderstanding. But, ideally, you have posted this at 1:59:26...lol.

22/7 is a fair approximation, but the one I learned was 113355 (the paired digits are easy to remember). Split that into 113 and 355. Divide 355/113, and the error doesn't occur until the 7th decimal place...good enough for any real-world application.

I would have liked to have posted at 1:59:26 but at the time I was occupied with eating blueberry pie.
