Christmas present form pulsar mens dress

Post23 Dec 2011, 15:11

I have had a pulsar mens dress one year now and for the start I had problems with it. I did the usual heat and cold treatment to it and I was able to get it working. But in this summer there was heat over 30 C in Finland (unusual here) and it stopped working.
I tried the usual heat and cold stuff but it only worked for seconds or the longest 2 hours, so I just give it up and left the batteries in and it was sitting on my display self. :-(
But two days ago I just tested it and it was working and I set the time and its still working  So I take this as a Christmas present from Pulsar :-D

Happy holidays

Hey Napnap.

I read on the cold and hot treatment on this forum but cant find nothing now, but i just did a quick scan of the pulsar section. Well i understand it ( and in my case it worked) it is like this. You gentle heating the pulsar watch module with hair dryer. It might just start up with this. but in my case it needed a shock treatment. I heated the module gently and then I put it to the refrigerator to rapidly cool down and repeat the process couple of times. And then it started to work.

Correct me guys who have done this, but for me it worked. It is surprising that how many modules I got working again whit this method . Usually the modules that show one number this procedure will work.

Best regards

Hi Egon,

I have just received this in mint condition for £140 so was quite pleased however it would only show 1 digit.

I tried the trick with hot and cold - used a hairdyer for a few minutes - nothing happened so put it in the fridge. After 5 minutes some digits started to appear so left it in a bit longer and lo and behold it was fully functioning and seemed to be keeping excellent time.

However after a few hours of wearing it the diplay would not come on. Put it in the fridge for 10 minutes and it sprung back to life again although the time was out by 50 minutes (date was still correct though). Left it overnight and was still working but again display disappeared after a few hours of wearing and therefore back in the fridge - only lost 15 minutes this time when it came back on.

Any ideas? Should I try the hot and cold treatment a few more times?

sounds like the watch would be ok with a new crystal put in to it. the hot and cold treatment can work as i have done this my self . but in alot of cases the crystal will be shot. your watch seems to be working until it cools down again . a crystal could do the trick . things not at a total loss if it can be sorted. nice watch

yes i was the same 5 weeks ago . i bought a wgf omega tc1 off of ebay as` a none runner but watch was in truly mint condition. after speaking to the seller a few times it was clear that he had not tried the right size batteries. i got the watch home put in batteries every digit came on exept the first digit. great watch was keaping time great . i sent the watch away to crazy watches and the man fixed the problem within two days the watch was on its way back . now i am very happy with the watch. for a little over 400 pounds i have a mint fully working original omega . i hope you get the watch sorted out. i was looking at that watch on ebay thinking about it too. :-D
