14k King Neiman Marcus. Pulsar bangle.

Post06 Nov 2012, 19:13

This is a strange old chunk of gold. Looks like a jeweller has sculptured a bangle and then popped in a Neiman Marcus Date Command into a sprung loaded hidden trap door. I doubt Neiman Marcus would of made such a shabby piece of work ? Maybe someone was trying to emulate the Grima LED's.

thats an incredible find...you know i,m so damn jealous of your Grima watches. i was also playing with the idea of recreating them for the watch competition.

Love the springs (or are they just hinges ??). Is that an ejector seat for the module Mr Bond ??

I don't think it will be to many peoples taste but the more I look at it the more I like the rawness of the piece, to me the workmanship makes a nice contrast against the value of the 14k gold lump it is set in, it looks like it is sticking two fingers up at the jewellery world who think that every thing gold should be refined and polished, and this piece is saying to them "get a load of me!".

That's an interesting work, but it's somewhat... Ugly at the same time. I mean, compared to the custom Pulsars made by Grima, it looks poorly made and poorly finished. Especially that sort of "trapdoor" on the front of the watch... I just feel sorry for the poor P3 that's been popped inside this monstrosity. :-|

You are all wrong! It's a led watch trap! And it worked

Remove the Neiman Marcus, put in two 386 batteries and see what happens M:)W:)M

I like that and think it is a perfectly wonderful example of '70s pop-art styling. Personally, I'd seek out a jewelry maker/repairer and have the issue of the two springs taken care of. Surely someone could do better. Frankly, even two long screws(nicely countersunk of course) coming in from the back to hold the module/front in would have been sleaker imo. More I write the more I think it's very cool - I'd wear that. Hell yeah, I'd wear that while playing at a gig. Too f'n radical. Maybe some better glass

Just out of curiosity, what's it weigh?

This looks like the kind of watch a Sleestack would wear. Pretty in in that respect!

Seriously - this watch would look perfect on Enik!
