Lanco Chrono-Quartz LED Watch.

Post20 Jan 2013, 15:46

I have this watch on its way http://www.ledwatches.net/photo-pages/lanco4.htm mine does not have the hooded top over the crystal, does anyone know if the watch was made in two different versions?
I suspect that a lot of these watches will have lost their hoods over the years, they look to be very vulnerable to getting accidentally caught and snapped off or broken.

I must admit that I have never seen one with a hood. Great find - I was after a non-working one on Ebay not long ago but was outbid. Is it fully working?

It arrived today, I purchased it as non-working but I had a spare donor module so that was not a problem, the watch was pretty grimy and one of the command buttons was stuck solid, it took quite a bit of cleaning to get rid of the gunk and a liberal dose of oil to free the stuck command button, I thought it was stuck for good at one stage but it eventually started to move ~:(
I will post a few pic's once I have given it a final clean.

Save yourself the heartache of trying to find the manuals, bands and boxes and sell it on to me. ;-)

Nice catch, the one that I purchased was the first one that I had seen in ages so to find one with the hood is quite special, where did you find it, in a lot?

Hi Bucko,
It was a coincidence. I was having breakfast today and It showed up on ebay, I didn't know too much about it, what cough my attention. And for a "just in case" situation I decided to buy it. So, we can call it a "lucky shot" :-D
For the years that Ive been collecting I just sold two watches from my collection, one Pulsar P2 and a Bulova Big Block Gold, just to prove to my wife that my watches were "valuable" and also I could/would be able to sell them if I wanted to. I proved it!!!! And I still regret that day
I like to buy the advertising related to the pieces, boxes, tags, manuals, etc etc etc, well, I like to have the watch with the whole bells and whistles :-D
And I like to get home and have the little packages waiting for me, christmas everyday!!!
So, lets see if the Lanco is going to work, as soon as I receive it. I will let you know.

Hi Bucko,
I just received my Lanco today, but unfortunately the module is broken in many pieces making it unrepairable. :-(
It has a Frontier (FR2006) module, or at least this is the one that was inside. Could you confirm it please?
Do you know who might have Frontier modules for sale, I bought a few last year from a guy here in the US, but I used them all.
I don't have to say that I still have to look for the band (and clasp), box, etc etc.
Any info is more than welcome. :-D
Thank you.

Hi guys,
I just got my Lanco together today (thanks Joe for your help (again)).
Bucko, I also appreciate your attention and kindness always sharing your knowledge and smart tips.
Here is my LANCO :-D
Lanco Chrono-Quartz LED.JPG

PS: (the band is from a quartzmatic, but it is a little bit smaller than what I wanted, but is was the only one available that would have the same style as the module. So, to be replaced in a future.

Ohhhh mannnnn!!!!!!! You don't know how to play
I never noticed the hood on the previous pictures and when you said "hood" I thought you were talking about the "LANCO" little metal plate
Now, I'm even further to finish it :ha:
And the hunt continue :Prost:
Thanks Bucko for the heads up and feedbacks.
I will put together a small photo booth so I can start taking pictures of my collection, for now I'm using my iPhone, but it is way too poor the quality of the pictures. I will keep you posted.
Take care.

Hi Retroleds,
Nice pictures of you watches (Lanco).
I loved the ones with the hood (and everybody else i think, :grin1: ).
I noticed that the one with the hood says Chrono-Quartz under the logo, and the other one, similar to mine, says Alarm-Quartz.
The little plate with the logo also is more like a trapezoid shape on the one with the hood, instead of rectangular (with small round corner, like mine) to the other ones.
Anyway, my point is, at some point, the one I have, had the hood also?!
And what was the function of the hood on this watch (a canopy for better reading the LED, similar to the drivers, casquette, synchronar and such?!).
Thank you.

Not my watches, just my site over there - it is a refernce site. I own www.ledwatches.net but it needed to be rebuilt so I am moving all of it's content over to www.thedigitalwatch.com, which will encompass all types of digital watches, clocks, etc. Obviously it is a much difference format and function than a forum.

The Hood - you guessed it - better viewing outside. Soon to be lost.
