Yet another non-working franken-pulsar for big $$$$$ ? :bang:

The old - working just needs a battery. If your selling a watch for $$$$, wouldn't you buy a $5 battery to show it's in fact working?

Elias, you need to read between the lines, I have bought many (and most of my best) pieces on-line as "non-worning just needs a battery" and in fact was true.
To make a decision I read carefully the description, I see (or I guess) how much the seller knows about the selling item (not knowing too much or nothing sometimes is better); I also check his/her other items for sale to see if he/she is familiar with the item to be sold, and I also try to see the quality of the pictures (re-touched?!), professional non-professional, pretending to be dumb or a real dumb?! etc etc etc. Also the end of auction day and time (it is a very important factor on the final price) and most of all if is "buy it now" just listed yumiii :O`~
The benefits of the doubt
But I try to go just to my comfortable price zone, unless is something out of the ordinary (but taking in consideration the possibility of total loss).
"May the odds be in your favor!" :-D

Oh well in this specific occasion, lol lol M:)W:)M NO COMMENTS M:)W:)M

I have to admit that most....MOST of of the eBay auctions I won where the description stated that all that was needed was a battery, seemed to be just that. However, I have won what looks to be fully functioning watches that turned out to be complete defects. This I cannot tolerate because these were almost all LCD watches that all the seller would need to do is set the watch properly, and check-out all the functions to be working. Then, if anything is NOT functioning, describe that non-working feature.

It looks like that the above watch listed on eBay has a spidel band and was described in the listing, but what I really don't like is the line about "I was told that it was working." This implies that he is selling it for someone, and he will be exempt of knowledge of the watch history and outcome of the buyer's expense to get it working. I have seen sellers sell watches for other people, and blow me off like a tropical storm just because they are doing a friend a favor by "Selling Their Item." To me that is no excuse. Now, I am curious of the outcome of this auction.

Hi all,

I have looked at this watch thoroughly, it appears to be a pile of non-working rubbish, Spidel brcelet is one of the most inexpensive bands you can get. All it needs is a new battery M:)W:)M As far as calling this a Bond watch that is more rubbish, does any fellow collector ever remember James Bond wearing a watch like this, definately not, just more hype, the guy's gotta be off his rocker trying to sell this for $499.
This is my opinion of this watch in the condition it is in :~#

Steer clear of this one,if you don't ---YOU WILL REGRET IT.

I surprised anyone spent even this many clock cycles(brain) on this one - chipped glass, wrong box, wrong band, not working. LEt's work backward like this was a business(you collection IS a BUSINESS, if not for you the for someone else): glass is ugly, band is usless, box is usesless. So, what will you pay for a possibly working Men's Dress movement? I'm thinkin even if it was shown working, you are maybe looking at $120. Working MEn's Dresses with chipped glass and nasty bands are always going for that.

Ed,
I am thinking that when this guy's auction is finally over, he will try and blame us for his COOL warez not selling! But seriously...it is that spidel band that stinks it up royal! It would take all of a few hours to replace it with even a descent black leather band. :mega:
