The shape of the watch was based on the XJS or do you mean why choose the XJS? In that case the answer would be why not, it has a better ring to it than the Nepro Lada Riva, Nepro Skoda Rapid etc.

M:)W:)M M:)W:)M ...........Nepro Trabant Safari...

I spotted the style Ref. to the XJS buttresses. Funny thing is Jaguar only put them in the design because it was supposed to be Mid/Rear engined.
They used the tried ad tested V12 in the front to save money and didn't change the shape for the same reason. And it was to late to anyway.
I guess the watch is more rear engined than the Car.
Still one of the best shapes, way ahead of it's time IMHO.
V V V V Nice watch.... :O`~

Hey kasper. Yes all my watches function.
I will soon create a gallery.photos to follow.

Regarding the " XJ-S . I think Nepro put the hyphen to avoid
Copywrite law? The jaguar being " XJS"
Any ideas?

More than likely as Jaguar was swallowed up by British Leyland around that time hence the cut backs.
There would have been no negotiating a watch with them after the takeover.
Although they may have been to busy trying to keep silly Red Robbo from calling all the workers/shirkers out on strike.
Funny though I was talking to a friend about the cars of the seventies and we still think that the 2 best looking Jags
were the XJS and the XJ6 series 2. The latter being the only car to succesfully pull off the ugly mustard yellow colour.
We couldn't think of any others that wouldn't have been totaly f**ked in that colour
Just googled images of xj6 series 2 Arhhh the good old days (70's) ;-)

It's just a shame they were so poorly put together..

http://www.motorbase.com/uploads/2007/0 ... v00069.jpg Here's one in that terrible colour.

What say you??

I notice this Nepro differs from P. Wenzig's - it has the addition of the XJ-S stamp on the case, is the case the same otherwise?

Do you know the reason for the difference, was the XJ-S stamped ones produced for Jaguar or was it an early example (or prototype) or was it just produced in two different case styles?

hey mick, apart from the logo on the case front, its exactly the same as peters.
Sadly I have no other info on this watch. I am aware of one other example but i've not actually seen it.
the last example is the one mentioned on this forum of which were waiting for photos.
sorry i can't help . any other examples would be great to see and any dwf members help on info would be fab..
