Is this quartz oscillator any good?

For electronic related stuff like module repair, silver epoxy fixes etc.

Is this quartz oscillator any good?

Post09 Apr 2013, 07:34

I've seen a couple of posts recommending crystals, but seldomly found any with the shape of the original one.

I found this listing, but I'm unable to tell if theyr'e any good for watches... Anyone knows? The datasheet is linked in the listing, but also here http://www.mecquartz.com/pdf/HC49S&%20HC49SS.pdf

When i change one, i take one from an old cheap lcd watch and try it. Works most of the time.

The thought has crossed my mind...

Would any old LCD watch be a good source?
