Mine has arrived. Here's the unboxing ...
Bubble wrapped with Ventura tapes.
Here's how the outter paper box looks like
The inner box
Beginning to get interesting from here. :) You have the instruction manual + warranty information, the bracelet sizing tool, and the pouch.
They even individually pressure tested each watch. And the watch was set to my timezone upon delivery, that's a nice personal touch. :)
Here's the glory of the watch.
Even the "pillow" is in the "V" shape
The back of the watch has information about this model. I have not taken off the bracelet yet, but I wonder if there is a serial number anywhere on the watch?
Wrist shots.
I had to size down the bracelet with all but a half link removed. As expected, the adjustabiliy of the bracelet is some what limited for my wrist size. I felt like I am in between bracelet sizees. But my wrist size varies quite a bit depends on temperature.
The bracelet is held together by "pin and collar" (i.e. Seiko, older Omega, etc) and I am fine with that. With the included sizing tool, sizing the bracelet is easy, just don't lose the pins and collars. LOL
I will likely to end up sourcing custom made leather strap for the watch in case of change of mood. The watch is "OK" for me to wear with the bracelet. But I imagine it would be more comfortable to wear with a properly sized leather strap. I would be wearing it with the bracelet until I got the leather strap made, which would take a while.
The watch with bracelet is hefty. Feels very solid, very nice attention to detail and well put together. The watch is as good as I imagine it to be. I prefer the this LCD layout (to the MGS version) of having all numbers in the same size, its more symmetrical.
When the scroll wheel is in the locked position, the running second digital disappeared and its a nice minimalistic watch.
The operation of the each feature is pretty straight forward, its easy to figure how to use it. I found myself using the scroll wheel with my index finger to go through and operate the function of the watch. I have to say the scroll wheel is not the easiest for me to use cause I am quite used to "buttons" (in my other digital watch). But the wheel itself contribute to the minimalistic style of the watch.
So far I am thrilled about the purchase. Its the grail digital watch that I wanted to own for quite a while. I really don't know what else can top the Sigma for me. (maybe this HD3 PV00? haha
http://www.amazon.com/HD3-PV00-V1-CA01- ... bs_watch_3) As for the Ventura brand of watches, I have become a fan and they have proven to produce awesome watches. They deserve more recognition. I hope that they are going to stick around for a long time, do well and continue to release models with great innovation. (and provide service for my watch, LOL)
