Welcome Jon to our board from all us..enjoy your stay.
I really don't get it, they all want to connect to our smartphone. I understand the reason why, but it only works if the batteries only needs a recharge every month or year.
You can just...pick up your phone, carry it, put it on the table, plug a cable in etc..all with ease. But will you also open your watch everyday to plug it in to recharge? I have 1 (3.5 year old) mobile phone watch, i have 2 lcd picture watches, i have a mobile tv watch..all need charging at a regular base..no we just don't do it.
The only watch with new technology that is worth calling a watch is the seiko's e-inkt watches and the new phosphor touch time digital watch.
http://www.phosphorwatches.com/Touch-Time-s/41.htmWhy? : Over 1 year of battery life with replaceable coin cell battery (CR2450), thats why...a watch needs to be in the background on your wrist...you have to forget about it, but it has to be there when you need it.
why do i have to see who is calling on my watch when i have a smartphone in my other hand. They need each other to be in range (bluetooth), so what is the purpose then?
still puzzles me
