Does anyone have GF links for 902 bracelet?

Post25 Feb 2014, 18:39

While looking for a DOW Classic for an everyday watch, I ended up finding and buying another 902 instead. This one is not as pristine as the Stainless Steel I bought from Luca but is in good overall condition and GF. The clasp is adjusted for the largest size but is still a little snug. Does anyone have or know where to get an extra GF link for this kind of bracelet?

Pics of the new watch attached. I didn't realize my wrists were so hairy until the photos.

Thank you, Greg. I just purchased one from Bruce. If you do find some, though, I can always purchase more as spares, so please let me know if you do.

Ther eare also standard buckle extensions. They come in yellow gold plate on stainless as well as stainless. They extend the clasp section buy up to .75 of an inch.

Much more common and also much much cheaper. Plus, they are not obtrusive and actually look like part of the bracelet clasp system.

Cheers,
Geoff

See ebay listing although a watch parts supply house will probably sell for cheaper. I get mine from Smiths and Smiths in Sydney Australia for about 2USd each but I drop by in person. Not affiliated with the seller, just a quick google search "watch bracelet extensions"

There is the factor of keeping the watch as correct and original as possible. Personally, I bin these extensions and put in proper links whenever possible (I have never seen a bracelet that fit as well with one of these in place of proper links). On a modern, daily "wearer", I don't see that it would make any difference. But, the Pulsars are vintage, collectible watches, so, the higher the approximation to originality, the better.

I agree Bruce,

Personally i strive for a "museum restoration" and if possible NOS to the period when required, else restored parts if possible. But, I want my Stainless pulsar 902 on my wrist now :-D so then the extender.

And when originals are far and few between, or nonexistent, then extender.

cheers, Geoff

This place is a great source of information. Thanks for the replies and info. While I have a thread on this watch, there is some discoloration on the face around the command button, I'm guessing salts from skin pushing the button over the years. Is there any way to remove that or no? It's not a big deal to me since it is a daily wearer, but again it would be nice for it not to be there if it is an easy fix.

Also, being my second 902, I enjoy the command wrist flicking. The 902 is everything I thought it would be and more. From pictures I never realized how miniature all of the components are.
