Need help with flickering Hughes module

Post15 May 2014, 18:15

Hi, new to the forum but been tinkering with some success for a while now.

I have a 29mm Hughes module that I just brought back to life with a bit of a clean up, it has the clip on contacts as opposed to the soldered. It was working fine but intermittently its developed the flickering display problem, showing just a couple of 00's or lighting up the numbers 1 at a time, that I have also seen in other Hughes modules, both 25mm and 29mm.
I've checked the crystal contacts and even replaced it. its works o.k. for a while but then the problem seems to come back.

Anyone have any ideas.

Regards

Pete

Did you use the correct frequency crystal? Hughes modules use a 786.432Hz frequency, the market standard frequency was 32.768Hz, modern replacement quartz crystals are also 32.768Hz. (sorry if this is a stupid question).

.. .. And welcome to the forum. "willkommen"
