Not really as it completely goes against the whole concept of a strong watch. At the moment I have the opinion that a LED watch case should be made from stainless steel and nothing else. Maybe I will start with a new ceramic watch concept at a later point of time. But this would be a totally different watch.

I like these Tungsten Carbide (German: Wolframkarbid) cases by Rado, they NEVER scratch unless you bounce your watch against a stack of diamonds constantly. An amazing material, even after like 40 years these cases look like New Old Stock. If you are looking into strong materials i suggest you take a look at them. There's just nothing like it.

Maybe I'm missing something - why are the two dots not lined up like a semi-colon?

Because on the Monsanto 4 digit display sticks, each digit is a discreet package attached to the PCB. Each digit has a dot, similar to this:
digit.png

The dots of the middle 2 digits form the semi-colon.................hence the horizontal offset.
To give the complete picture, one of the middle 2 digits is attached to the PCB with a 180 degree rotation..........hence one is high and one is low.

Rgds.

Gotcha. Well, honestly I'm not too crazy about that - maybe because I'm used to looking at LED watches with centered semicolons. To me it looks like something's wrong.

The other thing that strikes me is the band - a few big links are usually not as comfortable as many smaller ones (more potential to conform to the wrist) - but I haven't worn the watch so it might feel just fine.

All-in-all though, I think its a great looking watch and I just love the fact that its waterproof as I like to swim with my LED's on. I'm not sure about the display (for reasons above), but then again you'll never build a watch that's suits everybody perfectly. Good job!

Now now holly you know one of the golden rules of digital watch ownership!
Patience is a virtue. We all have lives outside here. Even Hanno. ;-)
Original P1 modules don't mend themselves you know. ;-) ;-)

(in the case of the HGWC I speak from experience, she's a beauty) :mega: :mega:
Keep trying, anything worth having is worth the effort to get it.
Funny but I've almost always found the two are inextricably linked.
A bit like easy come easy go I suppose. but vise versa.
Happy new year. :Prost:

....some members may find it informative that Hannos hard to contact if they are also interested in one of the drivers.
If, and when i make a purchase i will keep it a two way discussion between me and the seller, without a third party joker throwing in some light entertainment along the way...........
I see the HGWC web site is down?

I'm 99% sure that when what ever it is that has happened is sorted by Hanno.
It will all make sense and there will be a good solid reason for the problems.
Again I do hope it's nothing serious (health/family issues) that's awry.
:-?
