Tissot quartz 2030

Post20 Jan 2016, 23:35

Do you think this watch can be saved from the dead? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tissot-seastar- ... Sw~bFWQbyt
Have a working movement that i can transfer to the case. But is the dial to far gone? Cracked caseback?

Dial looks salvageable to me? New crystal, new gasket, new caseback, new movement. Weird, on the pictures the stepper motor has no contact with the rest of the gears?

Lot of work. Will see how i do? The Tissot 2030 i have is an old boring gold double watch. This would be a more interesting watch when finished. And i could use some of the parts from the 2030 movement as spare for an other watch?

Watch has arrived. The caseback is fine. Only the gasket is cracked. So a new gasket and the caseback would work nice again. But i am having a serious trouble with the crystal. The one that was in the watch. Was made of acrylic. And really bad fitting. Have search the complete net for a new crystal. Where can i find one? Anyone has a tips. Can i do it myself?
With a mineral sheet from cousinsuk? And some kind of diamond cut tool on a Dremel? It's square in size and has rounded edges.
