Wow, thanks for the insight, I love the pictures. Did you find this model, and had to repair it? Also, I wonder if any remaining watches for this model are mostly located in Japan, as that is where the watch was made.
One 0614 5000 owner told me he was able to restore the contrast of his LCD display by doubling up battery cells, essentially applying 3v vs. 1.5v. Can the logic board support 3v for an extended duration or will overdriving the voltage potentially shortening the logic board? Some other owners say the Seiko 0614 was built well that should be able to support the additional voltage. Is this true? Unfortunately the LCD assembly is glued on so it's next to impossible to install a new polarizing filter and these displays are extremely rare so it's not something you would experiment with unless you have experience in these types of restoration.
