Nixon Heat: Solder bridge hack

Post10 Jun 2025, 19:13

I have seen on internet that some digital Casio watches have hidden features, which can be activated by bridging a gap across a tiny soldering pad.

You guessed right:
  • I simply have to check if the circuit board of my Nixon Heat has any interesting solder pads with gaps.
  • If so, I must see what happens if I put some solder there.

It was my lucky day! Just NW of the big black wet-looking "drop" of epoxy(?), there is a solder pad with a thin gap in it:

All went well, and I started to look for any fabulous improvements. Had the watch been endowed with an alarm? 1/100 seconds in the stop watch?

Nope. This far, I have only noticed that the time is no longer displayed (with small digits) when the watch is in chronograph or countdown mode. It is normally shown just above the mode indicator:

I'll get back to you, if I find something more, but don't hold your breath.
