Vintage Benrus LED watches -- specific models

Post05 Feb 2008, 17:45

When I was a teenager, I owned a nice looking chunky yet sleek brushed stainless steel Benrus LED watch... it's buried somewhere in a box in my parent's attic and I'm now trying to locate it. I'm also seriously hoping that the batteries didn't leak and destroy the innards (which didn't happen with my 14 year old Casio LCD).

While I'm onto that, I thought I'd check out to see what information might be available on-line. Nothing. I've found a few miscellaneous pictures of Benrus LED watches, but I didn't recognize any of them as the model I owned (the number escapes me). There's practically no specifications on those either. Is it simply that no one has gotten around to it, or might my model be uncommon? Certainly, I can't imagine it commanding the attention and value of Pulsar LED watches, but I do remember that this particular watch looked much better than most other LED watches in its day (no funky curves, shapes, or angles--very big bold lines and rectangular segmented bracelet).

Anyway, if someone knows a place on-line that has a good list of Benrus LED watches, please post... Search engines don't seem to be turning up much. Thanks!

Check out "B", there's a fair few there.

Or try ebay, some Canadian dude's got one up for sale. Crappy photos tho' ;-)

Thanks for the link, Fitron. I had seen that website and browsed the Benrus models there. One of them might be it, but I don't recall the brand name actually imprinted on the crystal. Could be a fuzzy memory on my part, . This is the one I'm talking about:

No model information posted there... wonder why?

Klippie, that is just too funny! That's the watch alright, in gold plate. My band is a little different, minus that mesh piece, and the movement is not dual time zone. I better locate mine quickly, so I can see if it still works in time before the auction ends. ;-)
