P2 Case Resto. Button Removal/Refiting

Post19 Dec 2009, 06:09

As I figure out exactly what to do with the module (most likely sending off to SAS) I wanted to give the case and crystal some attention.
I have read a few different posts on removing the crystal and refinishing the case. All seems pretty straight forward but I dont thing I have read much on removing the button. Figure there is no way to get a really good finish on the case without removing it. What are the specifics on removal, whats inside, and reinstalling?

On these lines, any place to get a NOS crystal from? Mine is a Tiffany & Co. but if that cant be sourced, I would be fine with a standard one. Will hang on to the T&C of course.

And lastly, should I do this before I send the watch out to (lets say SAS) for its new module so its all fresh and ret-to-go when it comes back or wait?

Thanks all!

I restored my Date II earlier in the year - read this - without removing any of the buttons and it turned out just fine, the hard part is putting in the time to remove all the little scratches and dings from the case and bracelet but its worth it then as you re-brush this stunning watch appears before your eyes... :O`~

As for crystals I don't know about the Tiffany's but I got a new one for my Date II from one of the members on here Greg Ratcliff he sells NOS Pulsar P2 crystals on Ebay now and again he's great to deal with so you'll have no problems... :-D

Great read and AMAZING watch you have. At first I thought you were just showing pictures of a NOS one as an example. It came out wonderful!
