MBO led --odd display and button control?

Post20 Apr 2010, 11:56

hi all

i have this MBO (german i believe) iam kind of perplexed by its function?

module marked " olympics electronics co"

1.when you press command button / right.
the display has hrs mins and seconds yes seconds.

2.when you press command button left
the same display appears as above but also
the hr display starts to forward .eg 2.3.4.etc

3.with the set button pressed.
when you press the right command button ,this then forwards the ten units (not units)
when you press the left command button ,this then forwards the units
(not ten units)

ive tried pressing the command buttons twice/three times etc
evan tried pressing them together.
but with no results other than above.

so theres no date display..... jesus!
any info would be very very enlightening.

cheers
FG

Funky - your module has four contacts but only 3 buttons, so for starters, make sure that fourth contact is making solid contact with the case before frustrating yourself. Modules with an active contact to the case AND battery contact to the case will usually act odd withou tthat contact.

And a certain number of watches didn't have a date feature. Early NS LEDs, early Optel LCDs...first two Pulsars

Cheers retroleds for info.
yes i did check case contact.(only removed from case to photograph)

no date..sure .no problem.
but why the hell would they allow left comand button to forward hrs?
especially as that button would get a knock now and again.?

and sec- hrs and mins displayed together?
looks cool but are they common?
i mean ive seen over 300 various led watches over the course of a few years collecting ..never seen seconds displayed with hrs mins etc.
however i still class myself as "newbie"

more info would be enlightening.
thanks to all.
