BTW: Quite funny what wikipedia tells about dating in Germany: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dating#German_speaking_countries
"...funfairs during carnival before Oktoberfest." Carnival is in February, and only celebrated in a few regions at all; Oktoberfest is in October and only in Munich (though Stuttgart has a similar event called "Canstatter Wasen").
The paragraph seems to refer to a Germany of about 1950...

I like vintage LED watches but not sure if I would want to date them, it could end up with a sticky mess inside the watch case :~#

Thank you Led-Time, it's nice but would look better with a different band, I prefer this one, http://www.ledwatches.net/photo-pages/beltime5.htm I wonder if joeywaycool still has it.

It does look good that one, is the bracelet common to other Beltime watches...?

I missed out on one of these a good while back on Ebay I've not seen another since.

TBH I'm not sure, but a matching SS band would look better IMO.

Is there a date on the module or inside the caseback.

The ones with the Hughes modules should have the date stickers but i'm not sure if they are original to the watch, I can't remember seeing any other dates stamped anywhere else, I am not sure why but I always assumed the Branded Hughes was an early model and the correct module should be the dot segment display?

I have managed to date the majority of watches I have photo'd in the gallery - seemed a shame to leave the odd few, I supposed some will have been in production for more than one year so maybe it's not possible to state a definite date for all of them.

Anyone agree or disagree with these estimates?..... Does anyone care (besides me)

2. Mercury = 1977, later module with alarm feature.
3. Wittnauer = 1973, Hughes dot segment display.
4. Sigma = 1976, later message module.
7. Helbros = 1977, later module with alarm feature.
8. Seemos = 1973, Hughes dot segment display.

Not sure about the others.

Excellent band selection Mick - you really nailed it with the link size and the size of that first facet of the case being the same size. 8-) Some manufacturers didn't do as good. !@@!
