As for wearing the Seiko - I think it can handle that stuff much better than any plastic Casio. It's stainless stell and waterproof. Just rinse it off - done. A Casio might even dissolve - and who wants watch parts in the sausage?

First OLED: interesting question.
Diesel DZ7079, DZ7080 and Fossil JR9464, JR9465 come to my mind, both released in 2007 IIRC, but there may have been several others before them, especially Chinese models we didn't even notice over here.
Future horologists will have a hard time researching this.

Hm, not sure what you mean by "standalone performance": I guess you think I have the Seiko EPD, but it's a Phosphor, non-RC.

Both acquire ´sabi´ from honourable usefull life. No ´pristine´ box dwellers these two
For the rest I live a modest ´hands on´ rather existential but quality farm life.

The bathroom is an en-suite guest room that is on the North side of our farm. Nice and cool during the scorching summer and véry cold during winter. Open the window at night to the mountain air and it is ideal dry, not too, cold to cure meat produce.
