Timex LCD Watch Wanted

Post01 Mar 2011, 16:19

Hello, I am looking to purchase a 1977/78 Timex LCD / SSQ mens watch in good to excellent condition. See photo below. Some were marked as SSQ others simply said Timex. Either is fine. Please let me know if you have one to sell.
You can contact me at n@normansizemore.com

Kind regards,

Norman

Thanks for the ebay link. I contacted the seller and he will not confirm that the watch actually works, but that is what I am looking for.

Looking closer, it seems like DWL could be right. There is a shadow on the screen on the upper left corner. Guess you would be very lucky if the numbers light up on that one.... Possibly you could try to get a new module for it as long as the case is OK. But I have no idea which watches use the same module...

Is that the Timex model with tritium backlighting? It sure looks like the one I had that did.

Hi, yes it had back lighting, by depressing the two buttons simultaneously. They also made the same watch without back lighting and only only push button.

Norman -

I have both a ladies and mens SSQ, though I'm not sure of their manufacture date. Both work. Obviously, the mens is closest to your example. If it's what you need, let me know.

The Ladies model has some blocking in the right lower corner, but the Mens works fine. I know very little about these watches, other than they're pretty neat.

That is the tritium backlit model, notice the 3H on the back. I'm sure it no longer glows but the tritium tubes can be replaced.
