Arena Magazine 1997.

Post02 May 2011, 12:27

I first started collecting LED's back in late 1997 when i stumbled across an article on LED's in the fashion magazine Arena.
I do find it romantic and ironic that i now own the actual watches that i fell in love with nearly 14 years ago. I had them to hand this morning with a recently acquired mint copy of the magazine, so i thought i would take some pictures of the watches laid on the page. From the resolution you wont be able to match up the distinctive marks, but i thought id take some pictures anyway. O.K, im sure it wont mean as much to other collectors, but for me its a small story to share with other passionate collectors.

Thanks for Sharing, nice collection. You must be so happy to have that magazine, I bet you have read the article more than once :-)

Dont worry, as a collector of watches and other items I understand and share your happiness

Its the nostalgic feeling of seeing the first images of LED watches all them years ago in the magazine, and now having the actual watches is some thing that most collectors would look at fondly. I did sell the breitling LED that was on one of the other pages. Maybe one day i will get that back.

The case/lens was a bit "tired" as I remember - if you ever get it back I have a NOS Case and Glass still with Breitling Purple Factory Seal on it you may want to deal on - please bear that in mind for future.
