lime green watch

Post13 May 2011, 11:08

Hi all,

As well as an interest in watches I also have an interest in cars. I am man enough to be driving a lime green car at the moment and was wondering if I could have a matching watch.

I would prefer something vintage but I don't mind 90's.

I would like something subtle (even if we are talking about lime green)

I did like this: http://www.theretroworld.com/spoon-retr ... -in-green/

I would consider a green LED watch, but you only see the green when the time is on.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

BTW i drive one of these:

A Pulsar "greenie" would be ideal, but if that's not an option, a Lip green diode watch (a retro remake) would also work:

Somewhere here(I was just looking) I have a spunky green Alba Spoon "Hasin" like below. Found the yellow one , found the red one(both intended for going on the block soon) -where is the green?
Scrolling message.stopwatch, timer, web URL storage, time, date, backlight. I like your car...since when is green not a manly color? And you had the cajones to show it  Green Hornet time!

That is a computer generated graphic. The display is not nearly that crisp, I'm afraid you will find. It's just another Chinese display that has one square led per rectangular display segment(creating a hot spot in the middle of each segment). The LED shines up through a grid that has rectangular holes in it, and the light then shines on and through the colored plastic they have over the grid. Light also leaks beneath the grid to other segments(marginally). Now, if you can get one cheap <$100, maybe go for it. My $0.02

You could just as easily go this way.

A very honest picture of the display.

How about this green Spaceman? I know it's not LED but it's the same era, and the hood kinda matches your rear arches..

You could go with what all of the fashionable Guantanemo captives are wearing these days (although the black or orange versions probably go better with prison garb):

p.s. I have the green Lip. It's stylish but Ed's right about the display. It's not the best and difficult to read in the daylight. If anyone's interested I can post some pix.

I'm disappointed by the LIP info there. Oh well..

I'm not sure I like the straps on those Spaceman's (Spacemen?)

The ALBA is interesting.

I am seriously taken by a Starck Fossil. I saw one on ebay for 400USD and then it was on the Fossil website for USD125!!! That seems like a good price for such a design.

That's pretty cool, like a Polo, the mint with the hole.

Here are a few pix of the lip. In dim or dark conditions, it's pretty good. In bright conditions, not so great. I guess it depends on how you plan to wear it. It's a nice "going out" watch and a pretty good indoor watch, it's just not a great everyday watch. The green accents and the fact that the band is green on the inside is very cool.

Good lighting and angle (left), not so good lighting and angle (right):

Would this be considered to be lime green? These spiffy LED watches are still available on ebay (sold by me)...

I had seen that, and I like them, but I already have a Wittnauer Polara red LED and they would be too similar.
