The module looks very clean, like corrosion wouldn't be the cause. Sometimes the sprung contacts can loose their force over the years and bending them a bit can restore the force ensuring a firm contact.

My avatar pic is my Beltime, and the case has high quality construction.

I think I saw this watch. Not sure when. Looks familiar (the logo does). Looks like a complete set. No, no corrosion, but when bending the metal contact clips, isn't too much tension also bad. I think I remember reading this somewhere on here or elsewhere. So maybe bending the contacts just enough? Not sure, maybe I should check my own copy and see how much resistance a contact can take.

When you press the setting button does it give you the option to change the date and month. If so they have taken a hughes module from another watch with the date button on the left hand side so you will only be able to get the time and seconds with this watch but its still one hell of a watch. Maybe someone can swap modules with you? USBitsa may have the module you need if you want it fully functioning.

Pressing just the settings button advances the hours, pressing both buttons advances the minutes. No options for month/date. Weird isn't it? There is an "unused button option" on the 7 o'clock side?

The unused contact at 7 0'clock is your day(numerical). You get seconds by pressing both 1 & 7 together...something you can't do, short of putting in another button (joke). You could swap that module with a Hughes DOW that works everything off the 1 o'clock button and never look back.

Hm.

Ah well, maybe i'll find a module. I'm not in a hurry. I don't really miss the seconds and the days. And the car is due for some maintenance. Might be expensive, I don't know....

The battery contacts on Hughes modules when oxidised become non conductive the pads on your module look dark grey i.e. oxidised try cleaning them with a glass-fibre pen tool till bright silver. I've had many of these modules run perfectly once propery cleaned.

Very nice watch by the way the dot module looks... 8-)
