Novus module wanted

Post01 Aug 2012, 17:31

Hi all - does anyone have a working module for a Novus like this one?

If I can't find one I'll be selling the case, should anyone be interested. But I'd much rather find a module for it!

Best

Damian

i see, its a very bad module..i would sell the case or wait to find a cheap led watch with a working module. But finding a working one is not that easy. So if you really like the watch/case, you have to wait it out till you find the same module on the bay..otherwise you better sell it.

you can also wait a bit longer as most led expert (i'm not one of them) are on holiday. They can give you other watches with the same module.

That is a National SemiConductor module and replacements are pretty easy to find.
Does the watch display anything at all? From what I can see on the photo's the module looks clean and the battery contacts are still intact. Try gently cleaning all the contact points with a fibre tipped pen and retrying with fresh batteries.
That particular module is prone to quartz crystal failure, replacing the QC is easy (even I have done it) and a new QC costs only a few pence, a single digit on the display is usually a good indicator that the QC has gone bad.
If all else fails and you need a new module contact Ed Cantarella at retroleds@aol.com I would be amazed if Ed does not have a spare NSC module!

I did as you suggested, and when I pressed the button and saw the display light up, I was so ridiculously and childishly happy that I almost cried :-D

Thanks so much. I also have a replacement module for my 3502 Sport on the way from Greg, meaning that after many years, both my LED watches will be working again. I'm a very happy man.

Pleased it has sprung back to life for you :-D, it would be a good idea to test the watch over the next few days just to be sure.

I take it it's a 24hr display module?
