recognize this model?

Post18 Jan 2013, 19:06

Anyone recognize this model? I was going to add it to the library but couldn't find a makers name. It has a what looks to be an I and a D in a circle with USA on the backplate and a hughes(aug 1975) module and an integrated bracelet.

Thanks

Adam

Could you post a photo of the back case?

Here you go. I picked it up with a Bulova driver, a timex SSq and a Wittnauer 125 SS.

No help from the case back, the mark you refer to I have seen on a number of watches, I always assumed it related to the stainless steel.

I have seen the case before hand but cannot remember who made it, without any markings it might be the case that you will never really know for sure.

The closest I could find was a Digitime and a Seemos although they have some patternation around the edge of the crystal the basic shape is the same....

I say, whispering, call it a Digitime......no one will ever know ;-)

Thanks Bucko

I have a boxed digitime somewhere i'll go and compare. I thought the digitime wasnt as bulky as this.It also has the dot matrix display rather than the slab digits. They must have made both. I suppose it cost quite a bit more to make the dot matrix display.

This one just arrived today, I forgot about it as it was just the module I was interested in as I already have this case design just with a different button lay out, this one is marked on the crystal as an 'Arnex' and again is very similar to the one you have photographed....

it is much closer isnt it. It has arnex indented in the plastic crystal by the look of it. Mine has nothing. Is the date around the same time? Mexico Hughes Aug 75

I supposed the name could of been rubbed off the crystal, this one is really faded, this was a very common case design used by several manufacturers so it might be hard to identify with 100% accuracy. The module inside the Arnex is a Hughes, Mexico, September 1975 so very very close to your date.
