Hamilton 880 LCD Module or Panel

Post28 Feb 2013, 21:26

Hi,

I'm looking for a Hamilton 880 LCD Module or replacement LCD Panel for an 880 module.

Also does anyone know if the LCD display on the 880 is interchangable with some other non Hamilton module?

Thanks

Picture of watch(for button position amongst other things) and module are real helpful....module & ESA numbers are generally remembered best by those who need the part, not by those who might HAVE the part. Just sayin. Other modules may be difficult as Hamilton tended to make/use fairly thin modules for their LCDs. So movement thickness might be useful too.

Numerically that item probably only sold 1/100th the number of units as any Pulsar model - so while we remember Pulsar numbers the others quickly fall into the "oh yeah I recognize it when I see it category".

Ok, I looked, can't help (found a ladies 890 but that is very small). Is your concern the line to the far left? Does it show when the module is in the watch? I'm almost wondering if it isn't a manufacturing artifact and not a leak(if it doesn't show), since it doesn't have any of the usual irregular edges. Sort of like they say with moles - smooth edges don't worry, irregular edges - worry.

Suggestion: buy a cheap pair of digital caliper ($6-12) and then you can include thickness, diameter, etc. I think doing that in one blast in your first post will always get you the best response. Sort of like the saying, "God helps those who help themselves." 8-)

Lol - I have a working 890 as well.

You must have read my mind, I've been looking on ebay for a good pair of digital calipers. That's the next tool for the lab.

Thanks for the tips on what to post, still learning my way around the forum as the resident newbie :fool:

Actually I was looking for another one, this one is working fine for me. I have two bands one is gold plated one is stainless steel.

No worries I was going to deep dive into a complete tear down of the broken one, trying to learn to fix/repair the lcd modules. I think the lcd itself is good, maybe I have a bad crystal or loose connection.

I also read that you can "test" just the panel by using a 9v battery and touching the leads to see segments light up?
