Pulsar Big time, not quite big after all.

I got My first Big Time. I wanted one for some time, I got this from the usual seller, No batteries, don't know if if works , selling for a friend. bla bla bla.
Ok, got it and it works, partially. Last digit missing. The case has potential and the crystal is better than what I had seen on other big times.

taking the module out of the case discover that somebody took the magnetic reed from the date and probably the seller not knowing started banging the button and put a dent on it and some scratches on the surrounding. but still I think can manage to fix that with some help. I have not Idea how to swap a pusher on this things. The Good News if that one more pulsar will be on the road coming soon!!!

Mi surprise was that being the "BIG TIME' It will be the biggest of the P4s, not quite, 2mm smaller in diameter than the executive. You learn something new everyday.

Thanks for showing us the size of the "Big" Time. I had been considering one only because I thought it would be much bigger than the Executive (which I like but wish someone had fed it more beef & potatoes when it was growing up!) It never occurred to me the Big Time might be smaller.

Does anyone know if there a flick wrist model which is larger than the P4 Executive?

Don't get me wrong, the BIG TIME and EXECUTIVE are very nice watches. I have the Stainless Steel executive later model with auto-command and solid bracelet.
The P4 classic is also nice. But the Big time is in another league, specially later DOW auto-command. I will swear it was a little bigger until i had them side by side.
On this one is all abut the size of the time screen which it as bragging rights. it makes all the difference and has no equal.
And at 35mm is not on the same league of the P3, P2, but it holds its own very well and rides well on the wrist. nothing larger than P4s

I agree that optically the Big Time looks bigger. Its the crystal that the eye gauges for size. The P4 is my personal favourite (I have the Stainless Steel Exec version). 15-20% bigger would make it even better for me.

The only flick wrist model that I know of that's clearly bigger than a stainless P4 is the Pulsar 902 calculator. Note that the later 902 model included the wrist-flick capability but the earlier 901 model did not.

There's also the Gillette Reflex model, which isn't a wrist-flick but is a wrist-tilt model instead. The version that I had was about the same size as a P4 (see below) but there were a number of other case styles.

IMHO, the Big Time, along with the P2 and the Calculator, is one of the most beautiful models ever produced by TCI. Congrats for the catch, Phasar!

I had some BigTime's with slightly larger display than the average Executive...so maybe that's where the Big name is derived from!?
