Retro Replicas

Post21 Feb 2014, 04:40

Greetings,

I've noticed that a UK eBay seller "Time Shop" has been producing a increasing number of class digital watch rip-offs, I mean replicas. How many can we identify...

1) Pulsar P3

2) Pulsar P2:

3) Pulsar 3502 Sport:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70s-1970s-Old ... 3cdc964cba
4) Hamilton QED:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70s-1970s-Old ... 5afbc3f07a
5) Omega TC1/TC2:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70s-1970s-Old ... 5af6b235f7
6) Omega 1603 Constellation:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70s-1970s-Old ... 5af6c6e6dd
7) Wittnaur Polara:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70s-1970s-Old ... 3cdc843266
8) Commodore CBM:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70s-1970s-Vin ... 5af6590778
9) Longines:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/70s-1970s-Old ... 3cd79134dd

I wasn't too surprised to see them do the iconic Pulsars and Omegas but wouldn't have guessed that they'd move on to the less well known and less sought after models since some of the"retro" models go for close to the price of the real thing. It must be pretty inexpensive to have them made.

I wonder what they'll copy next - perhaps a P1?

Cheers,

-abe.

seen them passing by on a regular base.

the omega 1603 and the longines are not that bad...but the module is horrible. I'm pretty sure he is a member here.
I would prefer the Heuer model with double lcd. :-D

anyone bought one of these?

I have the P3 knockoff, but it is from a different labeler http://www.led-watch.com/usspace.htm but also advertised as English based. The watch body and bracelet aren't bad at all. The new replacement module I bought for $20 is cheesy. The LED segments are fat and remind me of something out of a 25ยข 'gumball' machine. The old module readout was better but it didn't last long for me.
