I keep seeing these on eBay, or do I?
Did I see a GF version sell recently - did they even make a GF version?
Do I now see one hiding within a lot that has been recently listed on eBay? Or am I just getting them mixed up with the ladies watch?

The one we're talking about now is ss, to be honest without the bracelet it wouldn't make much difference anyway as it could just as easily be a ladies model with module swap.

I didn't totally understand what you wrote there but yeah I guess I got it wrong then, I was under the impression that it was just the bracelet end links that were custom made for that model, I wasn't aware that the case back was 'diverent' too. Every day is a school day.

Now we're going on about the "Swiss case" aspect of the P3L... Both of mine are in Swiss cases, as are the others I know about. There is every indication that ALL P3Ls are made of Swiss-made 2407 cases, and ALL have modified P4 Executive solid-link bracelets. So, there is nothing "rare" or even unusual about those features (in fact, it can't be a P3L without them!). There is no such thing as a GF P3L, because there is no such thing as a GF solid-link bracelet. The modules are always 104 (Auto-Set) Men's Dress modules (again, not some "rare" variation, but a characteristic feature). Don't forget, by the time these were made, Time Computer was already importing Swiss cases for the P3 Date/Command, Big Time, Classic, and small (Euro) Calculators, as well as many of the Ladies models; Star simply could not keep up with demand for cases, so there is nothing exotic, or even surprising, that Swiss cases were used, since they were intended for an Asian market, not a North American one.
I suspect there are a fair number of these scattered across Japan (the primary intended market), also going unrecognized because of the strong resemblance to the standard 2407-2.

I am talking here ONLY about stainless steel cases (I have never seen a GF, Swiss case). About half of my 2406s and 2407s are Swiss-made cases, the rest are from Star. Among the standard models, there is no special significance or value connected to the case being Swiss-made. The P3Ls were most likely assembled in Switzerland for direct export to Asia, which would account for their relative scarcity here in the U.S. In the absence of any clarifying Time Computer documentation, I think that's a pretty good guess as to why there are so few in North American collections (might be a very different story among Asian collectors). Beyond this point, further speculation would seen to be unwarranted.
