Hey big spender...

Post16 Jan 2015, 15:29

Anyone on here get this nice little lot...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221661063685?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I'd love to have a closer look at the two early Seikos.

Nice "buy after winning lottery" auction. I live in Europe, how much will customs ask? What was it, 21%?

What exactly would you like to see?

Kasper, the glass you made was not for the stainless steel 0614 :-)

The P1 is rarer, more sought after, more collectible, has greater historical significance, is worth significantly more than I paid, and would require only a single transaction to show any profit. So, in terms of time, profit margin, and effort, the Pulsar is by far the better deal, both as a collectors item, and as an investment, other factors being equal. I base my previous observation on that basis. I am NOT saying that the LCDs aren't worth collecting, just that the value has to be kept in reasonable perspective...

I am sorry but we have some forum rules called "The three basic rules". I really try to be as liberal as possible but I also have to take care that this forum keeps on running. :-D :-D :-D

I'm also sorry, but why did you consider my post offensive Hanno? I asked 2 questions...
On the contrary though, this statement is offensive: "Unbelievable waste of money". Why was this not deleted? I take offense to that comment seeing as it was my watches at auction, so can you please delete Bruce's posts? Thank you.

I´ve sent a PM and I rarely delete anything. As said Bruce 1st post was not very kind but no personal attack. Since we are not in the kindergarten everybody should accept a certain amount of arguments. In the end nobody got harmed, in the past I did indeed delete a posting of Bruce, too and if you are interested some of my own posting, too because they were plain stupid and against our own rules. So nothing to worry about. :police: :police: :police: :-D

Hanno, I just wanted to clear one thing up from your sarcastic private message...
You said that I told Bruce to donate his money to some poor people, who do not work for a living, instead of buying another P1. This is NOT at all what I meant. I think this is because your grasp of English is not very good, as you've mentioned before.
What I said was, that our hobby is a luxury, and that cost is relative. What this means is, that to some people $10 is a lot of money, and to some people $10000 is a lot of money....Some people spend $10 on a digital watch, while some people spend $10000 on a watch. I understand this concept, but Bruce clearly does not. I have never ever said that anything is an "unbelievable waste of money"...because that is offensive.
So to answer your pathetic attempt at humour from your private message: No thank you. I do not want to start a donation post, to collect money for poor people. In fact, the suggestion is in extremely poor taste.
Bruce, I do not now, nor have I ever had a problem with you. I did not mean to offend you at all.
Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Thanks, but they sold. Well I haven't received payment yet !@@! , so I still have them, which is why I asked Digibloke what he wanted to see.

Why is a P1 of greater historical significance then a Seiko 05LC ?

I would find it very hard to let such a fine collection of watches go although I do appreciate that sometimes it is necessary to move things along. 8-)

Unbelievable waste of money

Er - No they're not (if you have enough disposable cash and appreciate vintage LCD's).

What exactly would you like to see?

Well - I guess I was just hoping for some more pictures. These beauties are two of my favorite LCD's but given how incredibly rare they both are I'm very unlikely to ever get my hands on either of them.

Thanks for the extra pic of the 06LC. :mega: :mega: :mega: :mega: :mega:
