I am sure you might imagine, that I have checked the different types of modules before I began with programming. This is always a bunch of work. Moreover I´ve programmed so many types of ICs to find the proper uP, so that I know about strenghs and weaknesses of these devices. The one I took is a professional device and of course it is protected against magnetic fields, individuals which would like to take a closer look at the code, the most common LED watch viruses, H1N1, the year 10,000 problem and hmm..., yes the end of the world in 2012 :) :) :)
Back to the topic, I´ve already updated movements for Piotr - he wanted the time to be displayed a bit longer f.e.. That means, the SASM modules are regulary updated in general and my customers always get the latest version.
The original Frontier module has been made out of a ceramic material, the one I´ve used is nearly unbreakable.
You cannot re-build original modules and circuits from the 70s which is also not my intention at all, but I think they should have the view of an original movement. This is also a wish of most of the dwf members from my point of view. And that´s why I will use original quartz crystals and the original trimmer.
As for the SASM-50, even a watch collector won´t find any difference from the Frontier2002 unless he has opened the watch, removed the module and than opened it or removed the batteries. That´s most important if you ask me.
