You don't say what specifically what the display on your watch is doing (or not doing) that suggests it may need replacing. Some pics would help determine what's wrong (hopefully, it will turn out, you don't need a new display at all). Measurement of the O-ring groove is 37.5mm OD, 36mm ID.

Hi Bruce thanks for the case seal info. The watch in question is a Hamilton QED one button type the display has one missing segment the upper left hand side,so i sent the watch to pulsar led time to test and he said it is the display that is faulty hence the need for a replacement.PS very impressed wiyh the quality of the case opening tool you sent me via ebay. :-D

Ah...always good to hear from a satisfied customer!
If there is just a single missing segment in a digit (and the same segments in the other digits DO light up, then what you have is a broken wire bond, and, since the display is epoxy-encapsulated, that's not repairable. The trick is to pop the original display off the circuit board, and, using silver epoxy, re-attach a replacement. I've done a number of these repairs (in fact, just finished one for a collector in the Bay area), so, I know it's possible, and are very reliable, if carefully done. I'm surprised PLT didn't have a spare display on hand, since he's building replacement modules that use the original Litronix and Monsanto displays. I'd be willing to take a crack at fixing your module, if you don't mind sending it to California. On the case wrenches, I use these on my own watches, so I make no compromises on the consistency and accuracy of the machine work (my father was from Switzerland, so there's a certain family tradition of quality to uphold).

I charged $60 on this last one (I charge for a repair ONLY if it's successful, otherwise, you're out only the round-trip postage). It's worth the attempt to restore an original module; that way, your watch retains virtually all its' collectible value.
